Our June 22 launch, rescheduled from June 15, had pretty decent weather with light breezes less than 10 MPH. Members flew 37 rockets. Mike Moran currently leads all flyers with 32 flights thus far this year. The club total now stands at 190, 68 flights ahead of 2018’s pace.
June 8 Launch Report
The Fox Valley Rocketeers flew 45 flights at today’s launch, in pretty decent weather conditions. There were some breezes and unfortunately 2 rockets were lost. Our flight total for 2019 now stands at 152, 51 ahead of last year’s pace. Projecting ahead, someone will be flying the 5,000th flight for the club sometime in 2019! May 5, 2019 Launch Results
We had a total of 33 flights at our latest launch. Mike Moran is leading the pack with 13 total flights for 2019. Winds were a bit higher than forecast, but still pretty reasonable for spring. This was our last launch at the Hughes Seed Farm until October. June’s launches will move to our Kishwaukee Park launch site in Woodstock.
March 23, 2019 Launch Results
Our March 23 launch was a bit chilly to start, but very sunny. Winds stayed below 10 MPH, so it was decent flying weather. We posted 29 flights for our first 2019 launch, a good start. Get ready for our next launch, April 6.
November 11 Launch Result – 45 Flights
Thanks to all who braved temperatures in the mid-30’s to attend our last launch of the 2018 flying season. The 45 flights they put in pushed our 2018 total to 327 flights, our largest total since 2015. Congrats to Ed Chess who, with 43 flights, was our most frequent flyer!
