Please follow these four additional safety rules at our launches:
Rule 1: The Range Safety Officer (person wearing the florescent vest) is in charge. Follow what the RSO says at all times. If the RSO says look up, look up! If the RSO says your rocket is not safe to launch, then you may not launch it.
Rule 2: Do not walk (or run!) in the area between the launchers and the launch pads. There are a lot of wires and other potential dangers around launch sites. Keep yourself, kids, pets, etc., away from this area we call the “flight line”. Only the person launching at a particular pad may be in this area. DO NOT CUT THRU THE FLIGHT LINE. WALK AROUND THE ENDS OF THE RANGE.
Rule 3: Do not touch or pick up rockets or rocket parts that do not belong to you. These rockets may be armed, be hot-to-the-touch or contain fragile electronics. Let the rocket’s owner retrieve his or her model.
Rule 4: Be careful around the flight line and watch for rockets and parts on the ground. Rockets are fragile and don’t fly very well after they have been stepped on.
