The Fox Valley Rocketeers put up 73 flights in good weather on Saturday, July 25. We now have 122 total flights in the books for 2020. Bob Kaplow remains our flight leader with 20, followed closely by Kurt Gunther with 15.

We finally got to fly on Saturday, July 11, but rain came in to cut our flying time short by about 11:45. Still, we managed to post 49 flights with lots of new models. Bob Kaplow was our top flyer with 10 flights.

The Woodstock Park District has approved reopening our Kishwaukee Park / Davis Road launch site!

In order to make up for missed launches and provide more opportunities to fly, we will be flying TWICE a month.  Launch dates are Saturday, July 11, July 25, August 8, August 22, September 12 and September 26.  All launches run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

A summary of the special rules for participating due to COVID-19 include:

• Park with adequate spacing between other cars.
• Wear a mask and practice social distancing.
• Bring along antiseptic wipes and hand sanitizer.
• We will maintain a registration table; please sign in with your name and contact information.
• Launch set up will be “Misfire Alley”.  Bring your own launch system and pad.
• Announcements will be broadcast on the PA system.
• There will be no flight cards used. The launch director will ask you for your flight information prior to launch.
• For NAR competitors, all NRC events will be supported, and Virtual NARAM events are allowed at the July and August launches.

At our June 1 meeting, we established special rules to operate our range during the Illinois Stage 3 stay at home order. These rules will be used once our Kishwaukee Park / Davis Road flying site is opened by the City of Woodstock. Please check out the special rules here.
