April 18 Launch Report

FVR had a decent day of flying for our first launch at Hughes Farm yesterday.  It got a little windy, but we still managed 77 flights.  Here are the highlights:

  • Ed McCarthy led all flyers with 14 flights.
  • Congrats to Bryon Nush who got his Level 1 certification using a Madcow DX-2 and H100 for a perfect flight.
  • Mike Moran posted his 300th flight with FVR; we can always count on Mike for great looking and great flying models!
  • Congratulations also to the POP TARC team who put up two successful qualification flights. They’ll look to improve their score at our May 8 launch.
  • Thanks to Mark “Bunny” Bundick and Mike Moran who took turns running the range.

Join us for our next launch, Saturday, May 8, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Hughes Farm site.

March 27 Launch Cancelled

Given the forecast rains for tomorrow, we are cancelling our Saturday, March 27 launch.

Our next scheduled launch is Saturday, April 3, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at our Kishwaukee Park (Davis Road) launch site.

March 20 Launch Cancelled

We don’t have confirmation that the Hughes Farm field is dry enough for us to use. March 20 launch is cancelled. Our next scheduled launch is next Saturday, March 27, 9:00 AM, at our Davis Road / Kishwaukee Park launch site. Hope to see you there.

March 13 Launch Postponed to March 20

Due to extremely wet field conditions, our planned March 13 launch has been postponed a week to March 20. It’s possible that conditions will still be too wet for us to use the Hughes Farm launch site, so please check back next week to confirm that the launch will proceed.
