Longtime NIRA member John Barrett has donated his rocket collection to NIRA, but there are rocket left over and the Fox Valley Rocketeers have them! You can have a look at the collection at our October 14 launch. There are a LOT of rockets in varying degrees of condition, some with popped fins, many of which have the fins present and therefore repairable. We ask that if you take anything, you send John a thank you note; address labels will be provided for you at the launch.

Bob Kaplow has been displaying rockets as part of the NASA/JPL booth at the NIU STEMfest for several years now. This year, NIU is adding a maker faire, and asked Bob about displaying more rocket stuff. Bob is looking for more people to help out and bring stuff to display.
The event is at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb. The event is free and open to the public from 10-5.

Midwest Regional Championships 2018 (MWRC) Report – Bob Zurek
Becky and I attended the MWRC hosted by WOOSH at BONG this last weekend.
I finished my last two NRC competition events and moved into 8th place on the NRC all-around list (I’m sure that won’t last for long)
Becky moved in to first place in the A-division A-payload on the NRC scoreboard with a new NAR A-payload record. She followed up by setting new records in the B-payload, C-payload, and D-payload events as well! She is also in first place in the NRC A-division all-around. Way to go Bec!
