June 23 Launch Report – Mark Bundick

Perfect flying conditions greeted 4 flyers, light winds and blue skies.  We posted 21 flights, and Mark Bundick and Ed Chess continued their contest flights.  Ed posted a 1/2A Boost Glide flight of over 4 minutes and now ranks #1 on the NAR’s National Scoreboard in the event.  Congrats to Ed!

Additional Kishwaukee Park Launches June 23 and June 30

Some of us who are participating in the new NAR NRC National Competition are trying to get in more qualification flights.

We have scheduled use of our Kishwaukee Park launch site on Davis Road, Woodstock for Saturday, June 23 and June 30, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

We will NOT have club launch equipment available at these two launches, but if you have your own launch equipment and want to fly, please feel free to come out and join us as we prepare for NARAM-60.

Midwest Regional Championships 2018 (MWRC) Report – Bob Zurek

Becky and I attended the MWRC hosted by WOOSH at BONG this last weekend.

I finished my last two NRC competition events and moved into 8th place on the NRC all-around list (I’m sure that won’t last for long)

Becky moved in to first place in the A-division A-payload on the NRC scoreboard with a new NAR A-payload record. She followed up by setting new records in the B-payload, C-payload, and D-payload events as well! She is also in first place in the NRC A-division all-around. Way to go Bec!

June 9, 2018 Launch Report – Mark Bundick

FVR ultimately had a successful launch on Saturday. We had to wait for the rain to clear, but by 10 AM we were able to set up and get flying. Jet Blanco had the most flights (8), all successful, followed by Bob Kaplow (7). We now have a total of 101 flights in the books for 2018.
 
On the competition front, Ed Chess pushed his national standing in 1/2A PD to 6th, and I moved up to 4th in 1/2A BG. Can’t wait for NARAM-60!

We have a rocketry home for you!

Welcome to the Fox Valley Rocketeers, a group of model rocketeers in the Fox Valley suburbs of Northern Illinois. Our membership is roughly centered in McHenry and Lake County but we have flyers from all over Chicagoland.

Our meetings and launches are free and open to the public.

Launches: We fly from April through November at two launch sites near Woodstock, IL. Due to the pandemic, you will need to bring your own launch equipment to the field.. From December to March, we host building sessions and take field trips to places of interest.
